Acne on my face, but not my wardrobe

Hey everyone! It's been a while since my last post. I haven't been completely idle, though. Coming up with a skincare routine for my acne-riddled complexion has consumed all my time. By the end of 2014, I want to kiss my pizza face goodbye! I've been plagued by constant acne since fourth grade, caused by a combination of food allergies and simple hormones. It's taken years, but I finally have a skincare regime that's cracking down on my body's pimply reign of terror. Check it out under the cut!

Prada + The Real Real

Consignment site The Real Real recently had a fantastic blowout sale and I decided to treat myself and order my first designer item: a Prada coat!

It arrived in good condition, just in time for the slightly cooler fall weather! The jacket has a hood and buttons down the front. It hangs perfectly off my shoulders and has a clean, sharp silhouette.

I'm wearing it here with a sweater from my dad's closet and my favorite patent leather brogues!

(The tights are special to me as well--I bought a 3-pack from a supermarket in a small town in Yorkshire, England over a year ago and they've lasted ever since.)

cassette store day

headed out to touch vinyl on sawtelle today for cassette store day; ended up w/ karen o's crush songs (review coming soon!) on tape and fka twigs + the national vinyl. good haul.

Simultaneously languid and agitated—murky electronic background and stuttering beats such as those on “Pendulum” and “Video Girl” lead to an impression of jittery anxiety superimposed on a slow-moving world. This auditory dissonance is part of the appeal of LP1, what proves my initial reaction (“Grimes on heroin”) wrong. Instead of ambient chillwave, LP1 is an emotionally-charged confessional, alternately languid and skittish. It’s music for the nighttime, for the lonely hours.
